A shed fire broke out on the Newstead Road at around 4pm on Monday 16 June, attended by six  brigades in the region with multiple tankers. Bruce Clements 1st Lieutenant (Acting Captain) of Maldon Fire Brigade reported that the fire took around three hours to contain and extinguish.
