Mount Alexander Shire Council has been shortlisted in the Victorian Women’s Public Art Program, which will fund six new public artworks across the state to honour women’s contributions to Victoria and hopes that residents will vote to help secure the funding.

Cascade Art Gallery’s latest show, simply called Imagination, showcases the work of four outstanding artists: Castlemaine’s Jan Palethorpe, Mount Macedon-based Sam Varian, Maldon’s own Jeff Gardner and Maryborough’s favourite son Dean Bowen.

Local magpie family, known as Hilary, Martin and Princess have come first in the wildlife section of the Camberwell Rotary Art Show.
